Diagnodent Laser
Decay Detection
Early
Detection and then Precise Correction
Using a Laser wand called DIAGNODENT
we now can catch areas of decay sooner and with more precision.
Not only can it help prevent the spread of decay, but catching
decay early means any fillings required are simpler and shallower,
preserving more of the tooth. This allows us to use minimally
invasive filling procedures, such as drill-free AIRABRASION In many situations we are finally able to
objectively monitor any suspicious areas without repeated x-rays,
harm to tissues, or the need for protective measures. Click HERE
to learn what this technology can do for you.
Cerec Computerized White
Fillings - white crowns and inlayed fillings that can be
constructed in one visit in an in office milling chamber,
therefore eliminating the need for a temporary, the two week delay
and a second appointment. Click

Intra-Oral Video Camera
- ever been to the dentist and have them try to show you some
little spec way back on an upper molar with a hand held mirror -
those days are gone. Today you can see an image of your
health magnified more than thirty times on monitors mounted in the
ceiling above the dental chair. View existing conditions the
same way your dental team sees them or take home a printed copy
for your records.
Air Abrasion - a new type of dentistry
involving advanced particle beam technology that requires "no
shot and no drill" and silently "blows" away
the cavity from the tooth. Click on "Filings
without Shots?" for more detailed
information.
Surgical "loops"
(telescopic glasses) - most all of our work is done wearing
these magnifying glasses to allow us to be more detailed with our
work for you. Between these and the intra-oral camera we can
see things not visible before to the naked eye alone.
Caesy multimedia education- each treatment
room as well as the conference room, and even the big screen are
equipped with a computer based DVD rom presentation series on
nearly every aspect of dentistry from diagnosis and treatment to
cosmetic results to reconstruction with implants. All of
your questions are important to us and this has proven a way to
enhance our ability to communicate - a picture surely is worth
more than a thousand words.
Headphones - each dental chair is equipped
with stereo headphones wired from the TV's in the ceiling - select
a cable channel or bring a video of yours you have been meaning to
get to and we will play it during your treatment.
Electric Handpieces - the
little miniature drills that we use have changed as well.
Electric handpieces provide more torque which allows us to run
them at lower RPM's and still get the tooth repaired. The benefit
to you is that they are less noisy and run more true. By
being more concentric you feel less of what we are doing on the
tooth. Quieter and less feeling are always good in a dental
visit. They also are less traumatic to the "pulp"
(nerve) of the tooth so there is less likely to be discomfort
afterwards.
Windows Based Dental Software - our dental
practice has been computerized for near twenty five years -
evidence of our long term commitment to remaining on the cutting
edge. Today's software is remarkable - we can schedule
your appointments from any where in the office, file insurance
electronically, even post notes and messages to your records
reminding us of special needs or medical conditions you may have.
Those pictures we capture with the intra-oral camera - you guessed
it - they are stored on our computer system allowing us to bring
them up and compare at later visits in order to better monitor the
changing conditions of your oral health. Even the power of
today's computer assures that we are doing our best to serve
you.
